Leicester City have completed the signing of Russian defender Yuri Tilemans from Lokomotiv Moscow for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old has been part of the Lokomotiv squad since 2017 and has made over 50 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals.
Tilemans will join up with his new teammates at King Power Stadium ahead of the upcoming season, where he is expected to make an immediate impact on the Premier League.
"Yuri is a very talented young player who brings a lot of experience and quality to our team," said Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers.
"He's a good addition to our backline and we're excited to see him play for us this season."
Tilemans' signing comes after the departure of fellow Russian defender Jon Toral, who joined West Ham United last week.
Toral was one of the club's most reliable defenders during his time at Leicester, making 86 appearances in all competitions and scoring two goals.
However, the departure of Toral leaves a gap in the defence and Leicester will need to find a replacement to fill that void.
With the transfer window still open, it remains to be seen whether Leicester will look to bring in another defender or if they will focus on other areas of their squad.
In the meantime, Tilemans will get straight into training and begin preparing for the upcoming season. He will be eager to prove himself and help Leicester secure a place in the top flight.
